Where do I get a barcode number from?

UPC, GTIN-14 and ISBN barcodes adhere to Global Barcode Standards and contain numbers assigned and managed by different standards organizations.

Do I need to provide barcode artwork to order labels?

Nope! We print labels using a variety of digital printing equipment which generates the barcode images during the printing process. Consequently, we do not need/require barcode artwork, files or images.

Is there a way to import barcode data into an online order?

Yes! We have a Order Data Import function (beta) available by request. If you would like to import barcode data and descriptions into a new order:

  • Contact us and request an Data Import Worksheet.
  • Enter barcode data and relevant order information into the worksheet.
  • Send email to orders@barcode-us.com and let us know which label size, layout and material you've selected.
  • We will notify you when the data import has been uploaded so you can log in and complete the shipping and payment steps.

How quickly do labels ship after an order is placed?

We maintain a team of barcode printing professionals who are committed to providing the highest quality barcode labels, with exceptional turnaround time. Typically, proofs are provided within 1-2 hours after an order is placed (during business hours). Most orders ship the same day, if approved by noon Central Time (US}.

What happens after an order is placed?

  • An order confirmation is automatically emailed after an order is placed. Please check your SPAM/ JUNK folder if you do not receive a copy of it.
  • A proof is emailed within 1-2 hours after an order is placed (during business hours, Monday through Friday). By return email, let us know if the proof is APPROVED or REJECTED.
  • Orders which do not require a proof are immediately put into production and cannot be changed or cancelled during business hours.
  • Orders cannot be changed or cancelled after a proof has been APPROVED.
  • Labels are printed, verified for accuracy, packaged and then shipped.
  • After the order has been shipped, an email with tracking information and invoice is sent.

To confirm we are printing your barcodes accurately, we provide a .pdf file (proof) which contains examples of the barcode labels on your order. The .pdf file (proof) is generated using the barcode data and descriptions from new order.

  • First-time clients are required to review, and approve proof prior to order being printed.
  • Repeat clients choose whether or not they would like to approve a proof prior to order being printed.

Note: All orders requiring, or requesting a proof will not be printed (or shipped) until proof is APPROVED.

Can I return labels?

No, the labels we provide on this site are custom printed and have no value to anyone else. We require first-time orders to review and approve a proof, and returning clients are strongly encouraged to request a proof (no charge) in order to ensure labels are correct.

Do you ship outside of the US?

Yes, we ship anywhere that UPS or FedEx delivers, however, the site currently does not calculate freight for international shipments. The site enables the user to complete the order without freight added, which triggers our production team to follow-up ASAP.

Can we add a logo or image to labels?

Yes, however the initial order will need to be placed by email. Also, please note that there’s a one-time set-up fee (usually $50 – $125) if you’d like us to add your logo or images to label formats.

Can we cancel/change an order once it’s been placed?

First-time orders and orders which request a proof can be cancelled or changed prior to the proof being approved. Once the proof has been approved, your order is put into production and cannot be cancelled or changed. Orders which do not require a proof are immediately put into production and cannot be changed or cancelled during business hours.

Do you match or beat pricing?

Yes! At Bar Code Graphics, Inc., we provide the highest quality products at competitive prices. Should a lower price be found for the same product, please contact us and provide us an opportunity, to match or beat pricing.

Do labels come on rolls or sheets?

We offer labels on both sheets and rolls. There are advantages/disadvantages with each:

  • Rolls can be loaded into labeling devices and can be easier to apply on large numbers of items.
  • Labels on sheets are made with a more permanent, aggressive rubber-based adhesive. Sheets are also ideal for small quantities of labels per version.

I have a lot of different items which need barcodes. Can I buy a handful of labels for different items?

Yes! We offer Flexible Quantity Ordering for clients who need moderate quantities of labels for a lot of different barcode numbers.

  • Printed on sheets using one of our Premium Paper Labels
  • Orders are placed via email using a BCG.xls Order Form

Are labels verified for accuracy and print quality?

Labels are verified for accuracy by Identification Labs (ID Labs), and have a minimum ISO/ANSI Barcode Print Grade of B. ID Labs is the designated barcode testing center for several retailers and distributors including The Home Depot, Kohl’s, JCPenney, True Value, and Stein Mart.
